The magic of Flux is that only those people see a flow who show by their behavior that they might be interested in it. More specifically, based on the reading time and return frequency, the flow algorithm decides which user segment someone belongs to.
To identify these "interested" users, we look at two things: how many times they visit the page, and how long they stay on the page. If the user meets either of these criteria, they will see a survey created specifically for this group.
- You can determine what kind of users see the flow you are editing.
- For example, create a welcome flow for people who visit your site for the first time.
- Create a "Welcome back" flow for people who visit frequently (you can even use their first name, something like "Hello {{first_name}}, welcome back!").
- Those who come back even more often are probably ripe for a special offer to sign up for a paid subscription. Offer them a discount and send them directly into your payment system.
These are the segments you can choose from. You can also select multiple segments at the same time. Users from both segments will then see the flow.
- Always = Show the flux flow every time someone visits a page.
- New = Users that appear on your page for the first time. Whereas Always would show the flow every single time they visit your page, New will only show the first time they visit.
- Guest = Users that have not entered their contact data. Use this segment for all users who are not paying or have not entered their email via Flux in the past.
- Contacts = Users who have given you their contact details via Flux in the past and are in your contact list.
- Interested = Users who come back frequently and are likely to pay.
- Paying = users who have already paid (you can tell Flux this information, it works like this).
